I've been looking for a really amazing pencil drawing to add to my favorites collection and I finally found one! This is absolutely beautiful! For not liking to draw wings, you did an incredible job with them. Everything from the composition to the lighting is spectacular. Thanks for creating such a great example of well-done pencil work. It's the only one in my favorites folder so far.
Thank you! I'm convinced that sooner or later anyone can learn to draw realistically, and I still have a lot to learn too ^^ It just takes a hell of a lot of time, work, inspiration and willpower, but the results can be seen very quickly^^
wings are very difficult I think and those took ages before I was happy enough with them O.o But i think the easiest way is to draw birds, and look at how their wings are constructed. If you have some local museum there where they have birds (like.. the dead, stuffed ones) taking the sketchbook there is reeeaaallly good or, for me it was. somehow i get a better feel for things when i actually see them, i understand them better and then i remember them better as well goes for everything actually
hey, thanks. . .i agree - looking at real things makes it easier to understand them rather than looking at pictures or w/e. man, you've given me inspiration for my finnal assesment peice. ill put up a pic of the scetches when i've got time to do it - :S though the finnal will be a painting so theres prolly going to be lot more to do with techneque and all that stuff involved....hmmm
hmm, i was considering colour as well but i don't want to do it in photoshop i think, so i have to wait until i'm back in turku with my mixed-media-table. and i want it on bigger paper.. (aaaargh A4 sucks)
